Qualification-goals/Competencies: - Upon completion of the course, students/participants will be able to:
- Understanding the fundamentals of cardiovascular medicine: identifying, describing and placing key terms, structures and clinical presentations of cardiovascular medicine within their medical context.
- Explain and analyse mechanisms: explain the pathophysiological and molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases and analyse the relationships between them.
- Understand the principles of bioinformatics methods and apply them to some extent: describe basic bioinformatics techniques for analysing biological data, select appropriate methods, and explain their application in the context of cardiovascular research.
- Evaluating concepts in personalised medicine: explain and compare approaches to personalised medicine and current therapeutic strategies in cardiovascular medicine, and assess their significance for prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
