Qualification-goals/Competencies:
  • After completing the module, students will be able to:
  • apply genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, microbiomic and nutrigenomic concepts to questions in nutritional medicine,
  • select and evaluate appropriate omics technologies and analytical approaches for personalized nutrition research,
  • analyze and interpret omics datasets using publicly available databases and online bioinformatic tools,
  • identify and characterize disease-relevant target genes, proteins or metabolic pathways based on multi-omics data,
  • integrate molecular findings (e.g. epigenetic modifications and transcriptional regulation) into models of diet-disease interaction,
  • critically assess the advantages, limitations and translational potential of omics methods in nutritional medicine and precision nutrition.
