Cellular Biology

The cellular biology programme focusses on the principles or treatment of infections and viral diseases, and innovative approaches on replacing a patient’s own tissues.

Structural Biology

The structural biology programme covers research into the 3D structure of enzymes, enzyme-ligand interactions, drug design, or the structure of sugars on virus surfaces of significance for recognising or combating viruses.

Neurosciences

The neurosciences programme teaches you the basics of neuroanatomy and neurogenetics for an in-depth understanding of genetic defects leading to illnesses. Furthermore, you learn how the various endocrine systems in the central nervous system function and interact.

Clinical Immunology

The clinical immunology programme addresses the various gastroenterological, haematological, dermatological and rheumatological clinical syndromes for an insight into clinical immunological and genetic aspects of diverse autoimmune diseases and allergies. You gain an in-depth understanding of immunopathogenesis for diagnostics and therapy of a wide range of illnesses.

Job Prospects

You will be sought after to work as a scientist at a university, research institute, or in industrial research, or as a laboratory or development project manager in companies involved in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or biotech.

As our graduate, you will acquire practical skills that enable you to solve problems independently and utilise your creative potential.

Molecular Life Science Programme

The courses of the bachelor and master degree programmes are generally taught in German. In particular, it is advantageous for applicants to have a good command of German. You find some information about the structure of both programmes below, but for more details please consult the German pages.

Courses of the MINT section (Computer Science, Medical Engineering Science and Molecular Life Science) taught in English

Although the majority of the courses in the degree programmes are taught in German, there are a number of courses taught in English that are suitable for exchange students.
