Robots and autonomous systems are revolutionising production worldwide (keyword: Industry 4.0), and robots and essentially autonomous support systems are taking a foothold in households. If you want to be more than just an onlooker of how the world is transforming all around us, then this is the place. Accept responsibility and help shape our future!
"If you want to be more than just an onlooker of how the world is transforming all around us, then this is the place."
Our consecutive bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Robotics and Autonomous Systems are designed for Abitur high-school graduates who would enjoy researching interdisciplinary tasks at the interface of physics, mathematics, informatics, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. Although special subjects like mathematics and physics are not prerequisites, you must be very keen on delving into technical and societal problems and finding solutions for them in the field of robotics and autonomous systems. In times of rapid advances and technological transformations, marked by growing global knowledge, it is crucial to have a solid foundation of knowledge and the ability to orient yourself in a diverse range of fields. That is why we focus in this programme on making our students such experts. In addition to electrotechnical and mechanical engineering fundamentals, we concentrate on teaching you to process complex data. You have a wide choice of compulsory electives from the field of robotics and autonomous systems, as well as from the Medical Engineering, Informatics and Computational Life Science programmes. For many years, we have been very successful at the Universität zu Lübeck in robotics research, whereby this – the first bachelor’s programme in Robotics and Autonomous Systems in Germany – has given a big boost to our curriculum. Another advantage of our novel programme is that we get you actively involved during your bachelor’s studies early on in the fields of medical robotics, underwater robotics, service and rehabilitation robotics, or medical engineering.
