Knowledge gained and skills acquired – Upon graduation

As a graduate, you will be able to get a job in engineering, or you can continue your education to get a master’s in Robotics und Autonomous Systems. The teaching medium for the master’s programme is English – but we offer a language course at the Universität zu Lübeck to easily help you get to the required level of proficiency. Following your bachelor’s degree, you will also possess qualifications and skills in diverse fields of engineering and interdisciplinary expertise, marked by the following key aspects of robotics and autonomous systems:

  1. You can identify, demonstrate and apply technically sound, fundamental methods and outcomes in physics, mathematics, informatics and electrical engineering, of relevance to applications in the field of robotics.
  2. You possess sound, fundamental knowledge on controlling dynamic systems in informatics, and especially artificial intelligence, and can identify the interrelationships inside and outside of robotics applications, such as service robotics, nursing robotics and autonomous systems.
  3. You can recognise, analyse and define demanding problems and tasks involving diverse applications in robotics, and resolve these by researching the technical literature.
  4. You are capable of applying appropriate work techniques to perform analysis, synthesis and development tasks, under due consideration of applicable scientific, technical, social, ecological, economic and societal bounds and standards.
  5. You can identify the impact of your activities on the environment and the necessity for sustainable development, and incorporate this into your work.
  6. In view of your interdisciplinary expertise, you are ready for deployment in diverse occupational fields.
  7. You can elucidate the content and issues within your fields of expertise with colleagues and the general public (in English too).

Over and above these specialities and qualifications, you are capable of:

  1. Working alone or as a member of an international team to effectively organise and conduct projects.
  2. Utilising your practical experience gained during the programme to enter the working world, well prepared to address social and work aspects in commercial environments.
  3. Organising your work efficiently.
  4. Acquiring new knowledge effectively by applying learning techniques to self-enhance and consolidate your knowledge and adapt to developments in this field.
  5. Assembling teams to work efficiently and effectively.
  6. Explaining the facts in an understandable manner, using advanced media and presentation techniques.
  7. Researching scientific aspects, considering them critically and presenting the findings to other experts and non-experts.
