Master’s degree

We are still fine tuning our master’s programme slated to start in WS 2019, following the end of the first bachelor’s degree batch.

In contrast to the bachelor’s programme, our master’s programme is more open, providing considerable room to take compulsory electives, practical training and, of course, your thesis topic.

The first-year concentrates on theory. The second year follows up with essentially practical training only over several months, in the form of training blocks and a master’s thesis.

Expertise and Key Qualifications

The graduates of our biophysics programme have been taught to:

  • Research and work in a practical and targeted manner,
  • Grasp biophysics problems rapidly and find solutions quickly,
  • Comprehend medical issues and develop biophysics solutions to address them,
  • Precisely note/describe difficult issues and appropriately prepare and present these to an interdisciplinary project team or customers, and
  • Derive practical solutions from research findings.

Conveying key qualifications

In our programme, we strive to convey the following key qualifications to graduates for their professional life:

  • Analytical mindset
  • Ability to think in abstract terms
  • Outlining practical and realistic solutions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Teamwork
  • Interdisciplinary and international cooperation and communication skills
  • Focusing on the listener when designing presentations and conveying complex correlations, orally and in writing
  • Maintaining a sense of responsibility and acting ethically
