Research Award for Vanessa Sciacca


Young Investigator Award of the German Society of Cardiology 2019 for the analysis of cardiac tamponades.

As part of the 85th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Cardiology (DGK), Vanessa Sciacca was nominated for the 2019 Young Investigator Award and won 2nd prize. Vanessa Sciacca works as an assistant doctor at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Lübeck, Lübeck University Heart Centre (Medical Clinic II, Director: Univ. Prof. Dr. Harald Langer; Electrophysiology Department, department head: Prof. Dr. med. univ. Roland R. Tilz).

She received the award for her doctorate project on the “Outcome of Cardiac Tamponades in Interventional Electrophysiology”, The award was presented at the Annual Congress of the German Society of Cardiology in Mannheim on 26 April 2019. Ms Sciacca is a member of Prof. Tilz’s scientific working group. Her research concentrates on current and future methods of interventional treatment for heart rhythm disorders.
